New Cones on Fir Tree wallpaper, Nation’s aquifers endangered, Ring-tailed lemurs

New Cones on Fir Tree wallpaper

7.3 Billion Years Later, Einstein’s Theory Prevails – At least for now. The experiment still leaves some questions about physical events at the sub-atomic level.

Lessons from oil industry may help address groundwater crisis

Aquifers are being depleted much faster than they are being replenished in many places, wells are drying up, massive lawsuits are already erupting and the problems have barely begun. Aquifers that took thousands of years to fill are being drained in decades, placing both agricultural and urban uses in peril. Groundwater that supplies drinking water for half the world’s population is now in jeopardy.

One startling fact from Oregon State University researchers is aquifer in Oregon that took 20,000 years to fill is draining very quickly, 500 feet in about 50 years.

Ring-tailed lemurs

Lemurs are primates. These ring-tailed lemurs are probably the most well known thanks to the zoologists on talk shows and nature specials. Their native habitat is Madagascar.

  • The wallpapers

Many of the wallpapers were uploaded at certain sizes and resized by the picture host so in most cases you'll have to resize them to fit your monitor. I've looked into several options, but can't find a host that is free, reliable and keeps the original size. The well known ad supported hosts will delete any photo that has not be downloaded for a while so they're out. Any money I spend on the this blog I would rather spend on the graphics then the place to host them.
